How to Run Many Version of IE in Windows XP - 6, 7, 8!
There are many ways to do it, but this one although long, it is pretty simple:
- Download a copy of Virtual PC, it’s free for our purposes
- Install it
- Download a VPC image of either 7 or 8, or both.
- Install it using Virtual PC, that image will not ask for activation but will expire sooner or later. When it does, download a new one.
- Run IE 6, 7 or 8 or all of them! =)
Original instructions appeared on the official MSDN Blog here, but it still works. The only caveat is that the downloads are over 400 megs and yes, you are running IE in box, with Windows inside, this is easier and less messy than the many hacks available to do the same thing. As a plus it works with IE 8 too.
