The gift of music and teaching & Louis Armstrong, just Wow!

theshalom:

The Sphinx stopped Louis Armstrong and asked, “Which creature in the morning goes on four legs, at mid-day on two, and in the evening upon three, and the more legs it has, the weaker it be?”

Without hesitation, Louis replied, “Well that’s simple! Scap dap doobily bop dop wop. It’s man, of course! Skip skap skibbily dibbly doo dap a doo. What a wonderful wooorld.”

Shocked that her riddle had been solved, Medusa looked at the Sphinx and turned her to stone. Delighted, Satchmo pulled out his trumpet and improvised a solo so amazing that the Sphinx’s nose fell off. Also, a pyramid appeared out of nowhere! Several years later, the Egyptians would install a casino and world class buffet.

*This is the story I told to those children before I was taken away by school security and handed over to the police. Apparently, you have to be a “teacher” to give a lecture to a classroom full of 2nd graders. But I’ll be damned if that wasn’t the most amazing mythology/ancient history/music lesson those kids will ever hear in their lives.
