Free Mac and PC Virtualization Software.
Virtualbox is a new virtualization offering like VMWare for desktops on PCs, Macs and Linux.
Fully open source, and apparently quite Mac friendly.
Not perfect, but you can’t argue with free. Myself however I will probably stick with VMWare Fusion, a great afforadable product.

MovableType is exciting again!
Suddenly MovableType has appeared in my radar screen, why?
Finally 100% Open Source
It has a design assistant to create your OWN css based styles, and a community to share them.
It continues to be a very powerful blog engine / CMS
Would this be enough to sway away from Worpress?
Who knows, but at least I will give it a try now.

/Library/WebServer/Documents
NOT at your Sites local directory, this can be modified later in:
/private/etc/apache2/httpd.conf
look for the DocumentRoot directive.
How to get Ruby on Rails and MySQL working on...
Scot Rozic has published a great tutorial on how to get RoR running in Leopard.
It’s a lot of work, but worth it. One quick note, when you jump to the site, remember you do not need to compile MySQL from source, you do need to make the group and owner permissions right, so follow Apple’s advice on that (check the chown -R and chgrp -R commands there.)
The rest of the steps are...
OS X Leopard is 99% ready for PHP and Apache!
In the old days of Tiger, developers who used OS X needed to either compile or download a pre-packaged version of Apache or PHP.
Well, Leopard comes with the latest versions of both 99% ready to roll.
David Powers has published an excellent overview of the process, and I suggest you save it as a PDF for posterity, just in case, remember the web is volatile. So do go and read it, great website,...
